Hacked Chapter 4------ Honorable Collins
CHAPTER FOUR
Honorable Collins
"Mother, till the moment i was taken away by the mid wives, I still held on to our plan. I thought it would just be for few minutes and that I will only have to act as instructed and everything would be over. Little do I know that there is more to what I had imagined and classified simple. I had a change of mind during the labour, when the agony, the pain and the river of tears could not be avoided. The mid wives kept encouraging me, they kept keeping my hopes high about the great joy I am about to receive. Their words in relation to my pang brought the anticipation of this little thing you are holding. Therefore Mother, please, let me keep this child for she is a present to me". " Those were the words of my daughter on that fateful night. You would wonder, if I also wanted to have the baby dead, supposing my daughter agreed to proceed with the plan. No, God forbid! I won't ever throw the gift of God away. I did what I did for Sameera's sake, I did it so she can survive the pregnancy stage".
"My grand daughter was beautiful and is still very beautiful, she looks just like her mother" she said, as she smiled and placed her palms on my cheeks.

God blessed mum so much, she had a lot of customers in her hair saloon. I can boldly say she is one in town. Most ladies in town make their hair from her saloon for she has a lot of apprentices. However, most women always prefer their hair to be dressed by her. So, that apparently makes her away from home, leaving me to take care of my siblings before dad, I mean step father started helping out after he became jobless. His dismissal from work was as a result of the protest he led with some of his colleagues at work, over some unpaid salaries and stipends. He works as the constructing manager of a real estate company in Lagos, I grew up knowing that step father works in Lagos and that he comes home for the weekend. He was a responsible man, he takes care of us according to the capacity of his income. We were never hungry. Things began to change when he stopped going to Lagos.
Honorable Collins Ajenifuja, the founder and sole owner of Tremz immobilier, a real estate company in Lagos where Mr Johnson Akinlabi, my step father worked for over twelve years is one of the richest Lagosians and one of the most reverend in the church. He attends the same church as my step father, who only rented a boysquarter apartment of one of the buildings in Klink Estate. Honourable Collins lives in this estate as well but of course , he owns a mansion. Virtually all Christians living in the Estate attend this Church. The Klink Estate chapel. Apparently, in a church like that, there are lots of competition, when it comes to wears, cars, accessories, hairdos, donations and so on, that is because, most of the members are people of high status and standards and these things are common amidst them. Only few members are really going to church with sincere heart to worship, others are just mere church goers.
The chapel's generator needs to be replaced says the chapel’s Pastor and a call has been made to the members of the church to give towards the purchase of this generator, which costs over 18 million naira and as you give the Lord will multiply you. The usual way of the church, each and everyone who wants to give towards the project will have to stand up to tell the whole church of his or her pledge. God bless you as you do so. The response to this call was indeed fantastic. Each person stood up to name the amount he or she is donating. ' I, Doctor Chris Eke hereby donate the sum of five hundred thousand naira for the purchase of the new generator. Chief Olaolu and family, one million for the purchase. I, Engineer Tokunbo Bamigbade, on behalf of my family donates 1.5m, he used this figure to depict his so called act of humility, and that was how it continued to go higher. Honorable Collins was the last to give towards the purchase and of course that was the highest amongst all, he gave seven million naira towards the purchase. That figure generated a standing ovasion from the congregation and it was the talk of the day. People kept talking about him and calling him a man with large heart. However,as at that time, he was still owing his workers five months salary and one year shelter stipends.

Comments
